Very inspiring words from Joe Rogan. Keep on reaching for the stars, f*%$k all the haters.
More often than not it seems you can hear the quirky voice of Ira Glass, the host of This American Life coming through the speakers in the Reel Motion office. Here are some words of wisdom from Ira:
You know you live in Fort Collins, CO when every thrift store in town has it’s Halloween displays front and center during the 1st week of September. Why is this you ask? Well because New Belgium Brewing Co. puts on an outrageous event called Tour de Fat, a critical mass bike rally meets Halloween party, with strange bike creations, local food, contests, and of course lots of NB beer. There were over 20,000 bikers in this years bike parade through oldtown Fort Collins (which must be some kind of record).
A few years ago we produced a short-film showcasing the crazy antics of this annual event. This year we opted to just ride, drink beer, and leave the camera gear at home…
Take a look at our video to truly appreciate how insane this event really is…
Tour de Fat is free to attend, but beer and merchandise proceeds go to local cycling non-profits. Since it’s inception, Tour de Fat events have raised over $1.75 million for philanthropy – heck yeah!
We love craft beer here at Reel Motion, which is why we choose to work with a number of craft breweries around the country. Our appreciation for hand-crafted goodness recently expanded to include chocolate after my girlfriend’s recent business trip to Nashville, TN. Lucky for me she visited the Olive & Sinclair Chocolate Co. and brought back some of the best chocolate I’ve ever experienced.
Here is a really cool video showing Olive & Sinclair’s hand crafted, small batch, slow roasted chocolate being made.
Life has been busy here at Reel Motion HQ…so we’re just now getting around to posting this video we did for Odell Brewing last month.
This was our first project shot entirely on DSLRs (Canon 7d & 550d). We’re still in the process of building a set of lenses. So this was shot mostly with the 18-55 kit lens from Canon. We’re very pleased with the results and have just scratched the surface of the capabilities of these cameras.
It’s been brutally hot in Fort Collins, Colorado this summer…found this video on vimeo and it cooled us down for exactly 6 minutes and 5 seconds. Enjoy!
