If you could, you might say that you just Tweeted Your Pants. In fact, Denver interactive agency FL-2 is tweeting their pants right this minute and you can follow it play by play. They’ve put together a Twitter visualizer that aggregates staff tweets and reports back some stats on the tweets. An interesting snapshot and an even more interesting name.

With over 2000 different services based off of Twitter in existence (and growing every day), it’s hard to say if there are any “definitive” rankings of Twitter users. That said, Tracking Twitter seems to take a pretty good stab at ranking brands, celebs, media, etc on Twitter.

Created by NYC digital strategy firm Electric Artists, it’s not entirely clear what Tracking Twitter’s rankings are based on. It would seem to purely be number of followers, but with some side comments on a few brands it suggests that maybe human’s opinion may be a factor too. In any case, is worth a look at some of the best Twits (Tweeple, whatever you want to call people on Twitter) out there to see what they’re doing right.

Of special note, Flying Dog Brewery (@flyingdog), formerly based in Colorado, appears at the number 23 spot, the highest rated alcohol brand on the chart. Hard to believe that a craft brewer (ranked in the mid 20s as far as biggest brewer in the nation) could be out Tweeting the big players. That is, unless you’ve been a follower of @flyingdog. If you are then you understand how they keep their tweets funny, interesting and informative-the perfect mix for attracting more followers.

Ever feel a little lost in the ever-changing social media world? Here’s a “map” of sorts, a little bit dated, but useful nonetheless.

Remember, it’s not about being everywhere at once. In fact, it’s the exact opposite. It’s about choosing the right networks to accomplish your goals (connect with consumers, connect with others in your industry, connect with total strangers, etc.) If you try to be everywhere with everyone you’ll burn yourself out. If you’re only on one network you might be missing out.
